YAY! Glamasaurus - Prettiest Dino on the Block

Sorry! I have had no time to update! This interview is with the lovely Glamasaurus!
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Andreanna. I am originally from Ohio but am currently living in Fribourg Switzerland. I'm also a stay at home mom.
I have a lovely albeit mischievous 1 year old daughter Isabella and a computer geek husband Sandro.
Glamasaurus has been around since 2004 although I just recently opened an etsy.

Apart from creating things, what do you do?
As a stay at home mom most of my time is taken up with playing and keeping Isabella entertained like going outside to play on the swings or reading stories.
Then there is the standard cooking and cleaning. We just moved to this part of the country so I also enjoy taking Isabella out to explore the area.

What first made you want to become an artist?
I've been creating things since childhood. When I moved here I couldn't find any hair accessories that fit my tastes so I started making my own.
It grew into jewelry from there. I just want to spread cuteness everywhere!

What advice would you give to artists who are new to selling their handmade products?
Always work to improve your product and your quality of service. If you aren't selling as well as you should promote yourself more.

How do you promote your work?
I belong to oddles of social networking sites like Myspace, Livejournal, and Facebook. I also have a blog at http://blog.glamasaurus.com so I can
keep everyone up to date on the ins and outs of Glamasaurus.

Anything else you would like to add?
Thanks so much for featuring me and hope everyone reading this has a fabulous day!
So what are you waiting for! Go shop Glamasaurus today!

Today I interviewed Heather of "A Scrappy Design." Her shop drew me in by the great photographs and the bold colors that she uses to create her pieces. Read the interview below!

Kittycrossbones: Tell us a bit about yourself:
My name is Heather and I love being crafty, especially if it involves paper. I have a dog and a wonderful husband who is also artsy (he's a painter). I work full-time as a project coordinator for a financial company but hope to one day be able to stay home and create paper goodies full time.

Kittycrossbones: Apart from creating things, what do you do?
I love to spend time with my family & friends, watch reality shows and college football.

Kittycrossbones: What first made you want to become an artist?
I have always been crafty. I remember as a little girl, making stuff with my sister and my Mom finding craft malls for us to sell our creations. I got into paper crafting years later when my best friend introduced me to scrapbooking. I was instantly hooked. I have been paper crafting and scrapbooking ever since.

Kittycrossbones: What advice would you give to artists who are new to selling their handmade products?
Be patient and do lots of marketing. I think the crafting part is pretty easy, it's the marketing that's the tough part. Don't be afraid to get yourself out there.

Kittycrossbones: How do you promote your work?
I promote my work in many ways. I have a blog, http://myblog.ascrappydesign.com/, I post pictures of my work on flickr & myspace and am a member of many web/blog rings. I am also a member of OKEtsy, Etsy Greetings, Etsy Scrap, and Etsy Paper. I also have my cards in a local boutique. Ultimately, word of mouth has been my best advertisement.

Kittycrossbones: Anything else you would like to add?
Thank you so much for choosing me as one of your featured sellers! Anyone who mentions your blog in the Notes to seller will get 10% off their purchase.

Enjoy!

Etsy Shop: BlackLilyPie

Tara from Blacklilypie is the Etsy shop of the day! I have purchased from Tara in the past and we have done some collaborating for the Sampler as well!

I fell in love with Blacklilypie when I did a search for 'black cat' one day on Etsy, her shop appeared and Tara's illustrations were just phenomenal, and I then became a fan of Batcat!

This information taken from Blacklilypie's profile!
"Blacklilypie is Tara Fortin.I am an illustrator, working from a pink, purple and black studio, making pink, purple and black things. I have been "blacklilypie" since high school. I am now a 28 year old full time illustrator and designer working from Toronto, Ontario in Canada. I live with a giant grouchy cat (Check him out on YouTube) and my "dude" is a government employee with a blue mohawk. We live in a "flat above a shop" decorated with skulls and bats. Our closet is entirely black clothes, which makes laundry easy."

What are you waiting for?! Go pick up some great products at Blacklilypie today!
